Trucker Tutorial
Eh, so you have chosen to become a trucker then hey?
Well then you need to know what to do, now at the moment, it is unlikely you can buy your own vehicle, you have £20,000, take a look at TruckerHub, they sell used vehicles, you might be able to pick up a used vehicle there if somebody has sold one, be aware though, you'll want to keep AT LEAST £3,000 aside, don't spend everything, otherwise you might have a breakdown or Engine Failure and not be able to pay for it. If there is nothing for sale in your price range, then you can go for a rental vehicle, Look at speedee hire, the good thing about a hire vehicle is that if you get an engine fail e.t.c all your pay for is the recovery, the rental company have the problem of the vehicle, and you get given a new vehicle until the end of your rental term. You can choose the vehicle to hire, but be aware, Daycab vehicles will add some extra rest time to jobs over 8 hours. So take that into account, although, Daycab vehicles will be much much cheaper.
Anyway, Once you have decided on a vehicle, rented or bought, reply to the post, and if you are renting, tell them what rental term you want, and say "£20,000 - (Rental Price)=(whatever is left). This is how you make payments in the game, you have show the math when you buy. Then you go into your character sheet and edit your money so you have your remaining amount there, then add the Vehicle in, including it's name and "stat-line", the line that outlines features of the vehicle, Be aware the stat-line also includes Top Speed. Save. You can now use your rental or bought vehicle, time to make some loads and make some M O N E Y !!
To make some money, you'll obviously need to take some loads, You'll want to head the Dispatch threads, There you will find thread(s) dealing in giving you loads, some dispatch threads may be specialised to certain types of load that require certain upgrades, but the dispatch thread will tell you if you need certain upgrades. To get a load, find a general Dispatch thread, and post saying you'd like a load. You'll be given a load and the distance, you need to work out the time by dividing the Distance by your vehicle's current top speed, and then reply with that sum. A Dispatcher will check and then accept your load. You then are allowed to "haul" the load, Reply with your Leaving time and your arrival time, and then you cannot do any other loads until you have finished that one. Once the time is up, just reply to the dispatch thread again saying load completed, and the +(whatever amount you were quoted for the load) You can now add this to your money total in your character sheet. You just took your first load. You're a trucker.
Uprgrades...
Upgrades are easy, Look in the truck shops section and you'll find some places where you can find parts for sale, to get an upgrade, buy it in the same way as you bought your truck doing the math, then when you edit your character sheet to change your money, add the new upgrade/feature to your vehicles stat-line, The Top speed should always be at the end, so pop it in before the speed, or if you have upgraded the seats say, just replace that part of the stat-line.
